Compost at Home: Resources

COMPOST AT HOME: RESOURCES

Since we launched our residential drop off program in partnership with Durham Central Park on Earth Day I have had several people ask me about what they can or cannot compost at home. In honor of International Compost Awareness Week I decided I ought to help those who want to compost at home find the answers to these questions.

NC State’s Ag Extension has a tremendous amount of resources for people looking to compost at home.

A list, “Over 100 Items Can Be Composted At Home,” as well as a more detailed guide to Backyard Composting. For those of you more interested in Worm Composting there are resources about vermicomposting for you too.

There is also more information about composting on the local municipality websites:

Orange County

Durham County

Wake County

Happy Composting!

To Life.
